Book against real technician availability, not an open grid
A capacity-aware intake layer checks the real state of the board before it offers a slot: which tech is on which job, how long that job has really run, and the drive time to the next address. It does not offer 2pm because the calendar has a blank square there. It offers 2pm because a technician can plausibly reach the door by then.
