Quote abandonment calculator

How many quotes walk before you deliver?

Four inputs from your agency. A yearly figure for commission at risk from slow proposals. No email required.

What you get

4 things that decide this

  1. 01A yearly estimate of commission at risk when proposals go out past the buyer's patience.
  2. 02A per-producer view, so quoting time shows up as pipeline, not a vague complaint.
  3. 03It will not fix your AMS. It shows what the quoting bottleneck is worth.
  4. 04If your quotes already land fast, the result says so, and the audit is not your next step.

How it works

The Quote Abandonment Calculator takes four inputs: quotes per month, average minutes per quote, close rate, and average commission per bound policy. A slider sets the share of proposals delivered slowly. Next to it sits the one cited number on this page: US Tech Automations reports that 40% of prospects abandon when no proposal arrives within 15 minutes.

That statistic is vendor-published, and the page says so. Your own abandonment share, if you track it, replaces the default and gives an honest result.

The output is one sentence from your inputs: roughly the commission put at risk each year by proposals that arrive late. Personal lines and commercial behave differently, so run the calculator once for each book.

Where quoting time goesLive
  1. IntakeDetails gathered by phone
  2. Re-keyingTyped into AMS, then rater
  3. CarriersPortals, one by one
  4. ProposalAssembled and finally sent

The buyer's clock starts at the first call. Most of the minutes hide in the middle.

Questions, answered

Questions, answered

01Is the 40% abandonment figure reliable?+

It is vendor-published research from US Tech Automations, and the page labels it that way. Treat it as a starting point. If your agency tracks its own abandonment, that number wins.

02Does this apply to commercial lines?+

Yes, with different inputs. Commercial quotes take longer and close differently, so run each book separately rather than blending them.

03Is anything stored?+

No. No email, no saved data. The result is for you.

Let’s build the one that runs after.

We build AI agents and automation, then stay on under an agreed service level. A senior engineer reads every brief, and your call gets scheduled within 24 hours.

What happens next

  1. 01

You send a brief or book a call

    Two minutes, whichever you prefer.

  2. 02

A senior engineer replies within 24 hours

    Not a sales rep.

  3. 03

    Honest scoping, in writing

And if we’re not the right fit, we say so.
