Overview

Recurring giving usually fails at one weak point: someone has to remember to do it. GivingFridays lets a donor decide once. The donor picks an approved recipient, sets an amount, and chooses giving days such as Fridays or Fajr. From then on, each gift runs through a trusted payment provider on its own. Hashlogics helped build both sides of the platform.

The challenge

The problem we set out to solve.

01

People meant to give every week, but each payment still had to be made by hand.

02

Each donation had to run on its scheduled day, without collecting the whole pledge upfront.

03

Recipients needed more than payment alerts. They wanted to see campaigns and future expected giving.

04

Each new country brought its own payment gateways, methods, currencies, and rules.

What success needed to look like

  • Make a recurring donation something you set up once.
  • Process each donation on its scheduled date, not as one upfront charge.
  • Keep donor history and schedules easy to see.
  • Give recipients reports and forecasts they can plan on.
  • Send funds through approved payment gateways straight to recipients.
Our approach

How we delivered it.

  1. 01

    Diagnose

Mapped the full path of a gift: donor intent, the scheduled payment, recipient payout, and reporting.

  2. 02

    Design

Split donor and recipient workflows, so each group sees only the screens and controls that belong to them.

  3. 03

    Build

Built recurring schedules, donation records, recipient dashboards, campaign tools, and the payment-gateway wiring underneath.

  4. 04

    Launch

Started with a simple recurring-donation flow while keeping the design ready for more recipients and payment methods.

  5. 05

    Run

Grew into more Southeast Asian markets and added regional payment options along the way.

The solution

What we built.

GivingFridays pairs a donor scheduler with a fundraising dashboard for recipients. A donor picks a cause, an amount, and a schedule. It doesn't charge anything upfront. When a scheduled date arrives, the right payment gateway runs that single donation. On the other side, recipients track incoming gifts, run campaigns, and see projected giving in their own dashboards. That forecast view makes the platform useful for planning, not only fundraising.

Results & impact

Where the platform stands.

GivingFridays now runs in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, with gateways matched to each country and method. The platform also publishes two industry awards: a Singapore fundraising-platform award from 2025 and a South East Asia charitable-giving platform award from 2026. Both awards are published by GivingFridays, not measured by us.

The takeaway

A payment is only one transaction. The real product is the recurring relationship around it. Donors get schedule control. Payment providers run each gift reliably. Both sides can trace every donation, and recipients see enough of the future to plan ahead.
