Software development outsourcing where one firm owns the result
Hashlogics is a software development outsourcing company headquartered in East Islip, New York, with its engineering office in Lahore. We build to a fixed price per milestone and keep your software running after launch, starting with a free scoping call and a fixed-fee Blueprint, credited in full against the build.

Software development outsourcing means you hand a defined result to an outside firm, and that firm is accountable for delivering it. You agree what done looks like. We plan the work, write the code, test it and answer for the outcome.
What software development outsourcing is, and what it is not
Software development outsourcing means you hand a defined result to an outside firm, and that firm is accountable for delivering it. You agree what done looks like. We plan the work, write the code, test it and answer for the outcome.
Staff augmentation is a different purchase. You add engineers to a team you already run, and you keep the roadmap and the accountability. Our staff augmentation vs outsourcing comparison sets out when each one fits. If you have a roadmap and someone to direct the work, staff augmentation is the closer match.
Outsourcing still needs you to decide what you want. When the scope is vague, a fixed price is a guess with a contract around it. So every build we take on starts with a Blueprint, where an engineer turns your idea into a scope we can price.
- 01You buy a result, with acceptance criteria written for each milestone.
- 02We plan and build the work, and you can review any of it.
- 03Code and IP are yours from day one, in writing.
- 04Small changes are on us. Bigger ones get a written quote before anyone builds them.

Offshore, nearshore or in-house: how to choose honestly
Build in-house when the software is your product and you'll change it every week for years. You keep every decision close, and you pay for that in hiring. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of software developers, QA analysts and testers is projected to grow 10 percent from 2025 to 2035. It projects about 106,100 openings a year, and you'll compete for each hire.
Nearshore teams share more of your working day, which suits work that changes daily. Offshore teams offer a bigger talent pool and need sharper written requirements. Our offshore vs nearshore comparison goes through both, and agency vs in-house team covers hiring your own people.
We're headquartered in New York, and our engineers are in Lahore, which runs on Pakistan Standard Time, UTC+5, with no daylight saving. That puts our engineers 10 hours ahead of New York in winter and 9 hours ahead in summer. We keep overlap hours with US and EU time zones, so your questions get answered the same day rather than the next.
What companies outsource to us
Products and internal systems that have to keep working after launch.
A consumer product with money in the loop
Offline is a restaurant membership app. Members get monthly credits and spend them at local restaurants. We helped build the membership billing with rollover and the city switching, so a membership keeps working when a member travels.
A platform that sorts and routes requests
Lexpair matches people who need legal help with verified lawyers. Guided forms take each case, and AI-assisted logic sorts it by practice area. Admins track every lead from one dashboard. We built it in React on Supabase and kept it in ongoing maintenance.
A web platform and an offline mobile app
Go Real Travel's small US team plans custom European trips. We built its concierge platform on Ruby on Rails and Angular, plus a companion app travelers use offline abroad. Go Real Travel reports 60% less itinerary planning time (client-reported).
Code another team started
Some projects arrive half-built. In the Blueprint, an engineer reads and runs the codebase. Then they write down what to fix and what to replace, with a price for each milestone. You keep that plan whether or not you build with us.
Four steps, and you keep something from each
Every step ends with something you own and can act on.
- 01
Scoping call
A free 45-minute call with a senior engineer, under NDA. You leave with our honest read on the problem, whether or not you hire us.
- 02
Blueprint
A fixed-fee plan an engineer writes from your real systems: scope, architecture, risks, and a fixed price for each milestone. The fee is credited in full against the build. If the Blueprint doesn't give you a plan you'd act on, you don't pay for it.
- 03
Build
Builds are fixed-price per milestone, accepted against written criteria rather than billed by the hour. A named pod lead runs the work, and you see working software every week. If we underestimated the effort, that's our cost, not yours.
- 04
Run
Support and maintenance for the first 2 months are included. Then you choose an agreement with written service levels, or a documented handover that trains your own team.
- Scoping callFree, 45 minutes, with a senior engineer.
- BlueprintScope, risks and a fixed price per milestone.
- Milestone builtWorking software shown every week.
- AcceptedChecked against the criteria written for it.
- RunWritten service levels or a documented handover.
Five stations, from the first call to software in production. A milestone counts as done when it meets the criteria written for it, and you see the board and repo throughout.
Who owns the code you paid for
Paying for software doesn't, on its own, settle who owns its copyright. According to the US Copyright Office, the author is ordinarily the person who actually created the work. Commissioned work counts as work made for hire only if it falls in one of nine listed categories. Both sides must also sign a written agreement saying so.
So the contract should assign the copyright to you in writing, and your own lawyer should read that clause. Ours assigns the code, models, data and IP to you from day one. Your code sits in your repository from the first commit, not in ours until final payment.
- Source code and database migrations, in your repository.
- A CI pipeline and a test suite that guard every change.
- A runbook written for whoever inherits the system.
- Your Blueprint, specific enough to hand to another firm.

Hourly outsourcing against how we run it
Time and materials suits work nobody can define yet. Once the scope is written down, a fixed price per milestone moves the estimating risk onto us.
Where the price comes from
Billed by the hour
An hourly rate times an estimate of the hours.
How we run it
A Blueprint, written after an engineer reads your systems.
When the estimate is wrong
Billed by the hour
More hours on the invoice.
How we run it
Our cost. Each milestone's price is fixed in the Blueprint.
Changing your mind
Billed by the hour
Easy to do, and the hours keep adding up.
How we run it
Small ones on us; bigger ones quoted in writing first.
What you pay for
Billed by the hour
Time spent.
How we run it
Milestones accepted against written criteria.
After launch
Billed by the hour
A separate agreement, if you sign one.
How we run it
2 months included, then written service levels or a trained handover.
01Is it risky to outsource software development to an offshore team?+
The risk usually sits in vague scope and a time gap nobody planned for, rather than in the location. We're headquartered in East Islip, New York, with engineering in Lahore. You get a named pod lead and working software every week, and you can see our board and repo from day one. Clients rate the work 4.8 on Clutch across 22 reviews.
02What are software development outsourcing services?+
Software development outsourcing services hand a defined software project to an outside firm. That firm plans, builds, tests and delivers it against an agreed scope, and answers for the result. We also maintain what we build: the first 2 months are included, then a written service level or a trained handover to your team.
03What is the difference between outsourcing and staff augmentation?+
Outsourcing hands a defined result to a vendor, while staff augmentation adds engineers to a team you still direct. In outsourcing, the vendor answers for the outcome. If you augment, you keep the roadmap and the reviews.
04How much does it cost to outsource software development?+
There's no honest range before an engineer reads your systems. Start with a free scoping call. Then a fixed-fee Blueprint, credited in full against the build, gives you a fixed price for each milestone before the build starts. If the plan isn't one you'd act on, you don't pay for it. What you pay for is senior engineers and software that's maintained after launch.
05Who owns the code when we outsource to you?+
You do, from day one and in writing: the source code, models, data and IP. Your code sits in your repository from the first commit. Under US copyright rules, commissioned work counts as work made for hire only in listed categories with a signed agreement. So ask any vendor for a written assignment, and have your lawyer read it.
06How do you handle the time difference with the US?+
We keep overlap hours with US and EU time zones, so your questions get answered the same day rather than the next. Working software is demoed every week, so nothing waits for a final reveal.
07Should I use a talent network like Toptal or an outsourcing company?+
Pick a talent network when you want to direct engineers yourself, and an outsourcing firm when you want one party accountable for a defined result. Toptal places freelance engineers on engagements from hourly to full-time, with a trial period for each new hire, and it also sells project services.
08What happens after launch?+
Your software stays with the engineers who built it. Every build includes the first 2 months of support and maintenance. After that, you choose written service levels or a documented handover that trains your own team. A month we miss the service levels is a month you don't pay for.
09Do you work with startups or only with enterprises?+
Both, at the same standard. A startup usually wants one workflow in users' hands and evidence that it works. An enterprise usually wants audit trails and permissioned access, wired into the systems it already runs.
10Do you use AI to write the code?+
Yes. Our senior engineers use AI to build faster, and every line passes the same review and QA gates as hand-written code.
